As an Environmental Science educator based in Maryland, Ruth's fascination with the vital roles of plants in the ecosystem grew. She understood that the well-being of our soil, water, air, and wildlife hinged upon the presence of plants, and the choices we make as custodians of the Earth can significantly influence our local habitats. Motivated by this awareness, Ruth decided to pursue a Landscape Design certificate, allowing her to craft gardens that not only benefit her clients but also contribute positively to the environment.

Following a remarkable thirty-four-year career as a public school teacher, Ruth retired from the world of education. She and her husband relocated to the serene Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, where they now reside in a rural home enveloped by ornate and productive gardens meticulously designed by Ruth herself.
